Many commentators have discussed the poll surveys after the recent election where "values" were identified as the main reason for supporting the president. The President himself has called for a Constitutional Amendment defining "marriage" in a traditional, biblical sense, and several states have already adopted similar provisions. Debates about what exactly constitutes such "family values" go on and on, but it is clear that the subject is on many people's minds.
